The second largest city in Navarre, in terms of size and importance, is located between the Bardenas Reales and the market gardens of La Ribera, from which it draws its water supply. Don't know Tudela yet? This is the sign you've been waiting for! The capital of the Ribera de Navarra has a lot to offer you... and a single day is not enough to discover it! That's why we recommend that you keep this guide in a safe place... and that you find a space in your diary to book a couple of nights in our charming hotel in Tudela. Strolling through its Plaza de los Fueros, admiring its impressive cathedral, discovering its Renaissance churches and palaces, passages, walls and watchtowers, you will understand why. Take note: when you visit the cathedral, you can't miss the Portada del Juicio, the Romanesque cloister and the Baroque chapel of Santa Ana, patron saint of Tudela. The palaces of the Marquis of San Adrián, the Marquis of Huarte (watch out for its double imperial staircase!) and the Admiral's House will leave you open-mouthed. The best way to get to know them? Following the city's historic routes. You will be surprised to learn, for example, that Tudela was founded in 802 by Muslims, who lived alongside other religions. And yes, its Jewish quarter is one of the most beautiful quarters, so you can't miss out on a stroll through its nooks and crannies. And if you are one of those people who are always looking for the best viewpoints in each town, make a note of two: the Cerro de Santa Bárbara, with panoramic views of the town, the Ebro and the market gardens; and the Monreal Tower, which once served as a defence and is now the first camera obscura in Navarre and a visitor centre.

Sercotel Tudela Bardenas
Every visit deserves accommodation to match. We won't deny the obvious. So, when a landscape like that of the Bardenas Reales badlands enters the equation, the place where you sleep takes on a greater dimension.
It is logical then that all roads lead you to our Sercotel Tudela Bardenas, located just a few minutes by car from this natural wonder that seems to be taken from another planet. But before we continue, a local tip. Take note: Bardenas does not have an accent on the first 'a', although many of us have always pronounced it that way.
And now that you know the basics for getting around the area, it's time for you to enter our Hotel Tudela Bardenas, which looks very promising from the outside. In addition to its unbeatable location (it is also just a short walk from the city centre), it has a look that invites you, at the very least, to cross its threshold. And it is when you get close up and personal that this accommodation lives up to its reputation.
Everything in our 3-star hotel is designed for your enjoyment. From the moment you arrive until you leave. Only this explains why, instead of the classic bar, we have a beer garden, Number Sixty, decorated like a typical Scottish pub. The idea is that you can choose from an extensive beer menu and, while you're at it, accompany it with a cheese and cold meats board; or, to get into the atmosphere a little more, with a plate of their house special potatoes. Don't worry, you can always burn off the excess in our gym.
If you're more of a terrace person, you've probably already noticed our hotel's terrace before you even checked in. No wonder, it's located high up and is one of those spaces where you'll want to sit for hours. Preferably under the stars, although it's up to you.
Breakfast buffet is also served in this space or, if you prefer, on the terrace. It's not every day that you are lucky enough to be able to choose where and how you eat the most important meal of the day, so think carefully before you decide.
We're not forgetting that you came here to sleep too. And at Hotel Tudela Bardenas we know a lot about that. We have 47 rooms, decorated with just the right amount of minimalism and sophistication. The idea, of course, is that you will want to stay indefinitely. However, we are happy to make you feel at home during the time you spend within its walls.
On the vitally important issue of Wi-Fi, don't worry about it. Enter our password as soon as you arrive and forget about it until you leave. Be advised: you will do so with the thought of coming back very soon.

A city of sensations
When you are looking for hotels in Tudela (Navarre), remember this
Its secret? Its high quality land is bathed by the river Ebro and the climate of the area favours this abundance. Moreover, the tradition of farmers and market gardeners is deeply rooted in the area.
Our last piece of advice: go for these products at the local markets, in the bars and restaurants... and enjoy them!
Did you know that the Bardenas Reales, that uniquely beautiful natural park that is a semi-desert area, is only 30 minutes by car from Tudela? You will feel like you are on the moon because it is full of ravines, plateaus and hills formed by the erosion of the clay, gypsum and sandstone of the terrain.
Another of the things to do near Tudela is to explore the Ebro copses, which are alluvial ecosystems, along the banks of the river. You can start at the Cerro de Santa Bárbara, continue along the Mejana to the Presa de las Norias. From there, towards the Soto de los Tetones, where you can see a large area of rice fields.
Along the route of the royal cattle track, you will come to the copses, those protected areas that are one of the singularities of this part of Navarre. If birdwatching is your passion, you will be happy to spot nightingales, purple herons and turtle doves. But wildlife is not only in the air, but also on the ground, with genets, frogs, foxes and shrews. We hope we have seduced you. So don't keep daydreaming. Find a date to come to Tudela!
The artichoke, the 'ugly' tomato or the buds here always carry the surname "de Tudela". And don't forget the asparagus from Navarre! Thistle, peppers, aubergines, borage, chard, chicory and endive are some of the other fruits, in the form of vegetables, that the Tudela market garden, fertile all year round, produces.
